Chair: Kymbra Kasznay
Description of the Committee:
The Cheesecake Fundraiser is an MPO fundraising event which occurs in August/September. The students sell products from Ashley Farms Inc which includes cheesecakes, pies, cookie dough, cakes, pizza and other gourmet products. It is the kickoff fundraiser for the year targeted toward Marching Band participants and benefits the organization as a whole.
What the Committee Chair does:
The Committee Chair coordinates sale dates and Ashley Farm presentation to the band, collects orders and money, runs the cheesecake sample table at the Fall Preview night and schedules and handles the delivery of the product.
What the volunteers for the committee need to do:
Volunteers are needed to help hand out samples at the Fall Preview night and distribute orders during the delivery of the product.
For the Committee Chair, how much time is needed and when:
This job begins in the spring with emails to the rep and band directors to coordinate sale dates. In August the chair will spend 2 hours at the Ashley Farms presentation and 2-3 hours during the fall preview. The bulk of the time is spent taking in the orders and delivery of the product in September. Overall this job requires between 13-15 hours total and is completed in September.
This is a relatively easy fundraiser to coordinate. Ashley Farms does most of the work. They send a rep in to talk to the students about the sale and get them excited to sell. When the orders come in, they are separated by student so the coordinator just has to organize alphabetically. The biggest part of the job is getting the parents to come in to pick up the orders. This can be easily handled by frequent reminders by the band directors who are more than willing to help send reminders to the parents.
